Pliers were used for pulling out five of the man's teeth.
A man died after he went to a faith healer to have his teeth extracted.
The victim was identified as Jerry Aguirre, a resident of Manapla, Negros Occidental.
Aguirre's sister, Joane dela Cruz, said Aguirre went out to have his teeth pulled.
She thought her brother went to a doctor but it turned out that sought out an ispiritista or faith healer to help him with his dental problem.
It was later revealed that the faith healer, identified only as "Dodoy," used pliers to pull out five of Aguirre's teeth.
Dela Cruz said her brother was weak when he arrived home.
He went to sleep and then they found him dead on his bed the following day.
Based on his death certificate, signed by Dr. Eriberto Jayme, Municipal Health Officer, Aguirre died of "septic embolism, secondary to dental foci, which was caused by bacterial infection."
Authorities said the faith healer involved in the incident may face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
Meanwhile, "Dodoy" admitted that it was his first time to actually extract a tooth from a person, as he usually only performs rituals and prayers on his patients.
He has asked forgiveness from the victim's family, but they have decided to file charges against him.
